MADRID FIESTA DE FATIMA SHRINE
Fiestas del Patron: San Isidro Labrador.
Born in Madrid in 1082.
His parents were extremely poor farmers could not even send his son to school. But at home he was taught to be afraid of offending God and love of love of neighbor and a deep appreciation for prayer and Holy Mass and Communion.
Orphaned and alone in the world when he reached the age of ten Isidro was used as a pawn in the field, helping agriculture to Don Juan de Vargas owner of a farm near Madrid. He spent many years of his life tilling the land, cultivating and harvesting.
He married a simple peasant who also came to be holy and is now called Santa Maria de la Cabeza, not because that was his name, but because his head is paraded on prayers, they pass many months without rain.
Isidro rose very early and never began their working day without having previously attended the mass. Several of his colleagues accused him very envious to the employer for "absenteeism" and missing work.
Mr. Vargas went to see the field and noticed that it was true that Isidro arrived an hour later than the others at that time worked 6:00 to 6:00 for late-but while Isidro heard mass, an invisible character, perhaps an angel, "he guaba his oxen and they plowed judiciously as the farmer himself was directing.
